Online Privacy: Do You Share Too Much Information?

Read the handout given to you in class.  What are two things that stood out to you that you never thought of before?  A bulleted answer is sufficient.

  1. 1.) People get information about your location and rob your house.
    2.) You shouldn't post anything that the government does not want to see. Even if it is not incriminating to you now they might be able to bring it up later.

  2. 1. I didn't know telling social media about a trip out of town could be bad.
    2. I didn't know social media sites don't have to notify you if they share your information.

  3. 1. I never thought about putting stuff online while on vacation and then my house getting broken into.

    2. I also never thought about people following me. Kinda creepy. People being able to watch your every move that is not the government worries me.

  4. 1. The fact that some people post their debit card stood out to me.
    2. I also didn't realize it was such a danger to post when you are going to be away from home. In doing so, it invites thieves to rob your house.
